Kitchen is a lovely place where there is warmth, food, and the beautiful smell of the delicious food and desserts. The ants decide to make the kitchen their den, and accordingly they start building their own mud huts in this place.

The very first step that you must take is finding the entry points from where they are entering the home.

The ants live in clusters, they form colonies, and they travel in a line. Track the trail of the creatures, find their mud huts, and then destroy them.

Seal the cracks so that the ants cannot enter or exit.

And here are the remedies you can apply to get rid of ants in kitchen and other parts of the house.

Vinegar

There are millions of uses of vinegar, and this magical potion can help you to get rid of the ants very easily too. Mix half cup of vinegar with half cup of plain water, and prepare a solution. Keep this solution inside a spray bottle. Find the ants and their homes, and then spray on them. They will suffocate and die.

Boric acid

The boric acid is very effective in removing the ants, roaches and other pests from the house. The boric acid is toxic, so keep it out of the reach of children and pets. The kitchen is a place where there are foods and other edible things for your family, so while applying the boric acid you have to be very cautions. You can apply this batter in affected areas.

Kerosene oil

The kerosene oil is highly effective and it can kill the ants instantly. Spray the oil on the ants and their homes. Within minutes, the ants will suffocate and die!

Soapy water

Mix water and soap together. Grind some soap, or you can use detergent as well. Prepare a saturated solution and spray them on the ants.

Ground cinnamon

If you want to prevent the entry of the ants, then you can sprinkle some ground cinnamon on the doors, windows, shelves, cracks, etc. The smell of the cinnamon will repel the ants, and they will avoid entering the kitchen. The cinnamon will also help you to make the kitchen smell nice and fresh.

Lemons

Give the ants the taste of lemons, and see them fleeing your kitchen and your home. Mix four lemons in two liters of water and then wash the floors, the cabinets, etc. The smell of the lemons repels the ants and they will get the message that they are not welcome in your kitchen.

Pest controllers

If you find that the kitchen is attacked by millions of ants, and the above methods are falling short, then you can call the pest controllers or the exterminators. They have the required chemicals and equipments with them with which they can kill the ants and remove them permanently. Killing the ants is just not enough, but their larvae and nests must be destroyed as well.
