If you have taps in your sink which is leaking or a pipe where there is a crack, fix it as soon as possible. You can then set gel based baits to kill the cockroaches. Once they will be devoid of water, they will be attracted towards those baits you have set for them.
2. Use cockroach baits
You can use several kinds of baits to catch them and kill them. There are several kinds of insecticides and roach killing poisons available in the market. Once the roaches eat the poison, they go outside and then they die. You can keep the food mixed with poison near the area where the roaches dwell. They will eat the poisoned food, and will infect the other roaches with the poison. The death of the roaches is not the end of the story. You also have to destroy their eggs before they hatch. Like this, you can remove generations of roaches effectively from your home.
3. Use boric acid
Mix I part boric acid, 2 part flour and 1 part cocoa. This mixture is one of the most effective baits to kill the roaches. Keep the mixture where the bugs can get it. Keep your pets and kids away from this poison. Even though the boric acid is non toxic, still it is only for external use. This mixture can destroy three progressive cycle of roaches, and they will be gone within a week. Continue using this mixture until they are totally gone.
4. A solution of soap and water
Mix soap, e.g. bath soap with water and spray it on the roaches wherever you find it. The bugs cannot tolerate the soapy water and they die even within one minute. The soapy water forms a thin layer on the breathing pores of the roaches, so they suffocate and die. Use this mixture in bulk and kill all the bugs you have got.
5. Use Insecticides
There are several insecticides available in the market which can destroy the bugs. These are chemical products which are very effective on them. You can spray the insecticides wherever you find them and thus you can remove the cockroaches from kitchen.
Apart from the above tips to remove cockroaches from kitchen, if the level of infestation is too deep, you may have to take professional help from a pest exterminator. When followed properly, you should be able to eradicate cockroaches to a good extent and if not, take professional help.
